Michael Sherman, a high-ranking executive at Sports Illustrated, shared his enthusiasm for introducing the Club SI experience to the historic Churchill Downs track. He noted that the publication has documented the venue’s storied past for many years.
Sherman highlighted that Club SI would honor the renowned aspects of the Sports Illustrated name while offering attendees an opulent setting, featuring notable guests, gourmet cuisine, and drinks. This exclusive offering within the redesigned paddock space would present a unique chance to savor the excitement of equestrian competition during the landmark 150th Kentucky Derby celebration.
Leading up to the event, Churchill Downs Incorporated also debuted Derby City Gaming Downtown, a novel entertainment venue inspired by Kentucky’s horse racing legacy, to visitors.
