A possible union with the PGA Tour
LIV Golf revealed last month that it might merge with the traditional golf PGA Tour.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, which possesses LIV Golf, has consented to merge with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. This will establish joint ownership and resolve all legal disagreements surrounding the LIV Golf breakaway series.
The agreement will combine the PIF’s golf business operations and entitlements with those of the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
This follows 18 months of conflict after the PIF’s investment in LIV Golf and the commencement of its inaugural invitational competition. Numerous players from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour have pledged to participate in LIV Golf.
